The Syndicate’s Claims Management philosophy is stated as follows:
“The Syndicate will adjust and settle valid claims in a fair, reasonable and timely manner. We shall establish appropriate reserves expeditiously upon receipt of information that is sufficient to form a view based upon exposure, liability and quantum. We shall at all times maintain effective and clear communication with policyholders, brokers and the following market when appropriate.”
Our intention is to maintain a professional claims team with an emphasis on knowing and understanding our clients’ needs. We believe that our policyholders are best served by claims professionals who understand the policies and are able to communicate clearly and effectively with brokers and clients alike. A knowledgeable, market-respected claims team working alongside the underwriting team with a cohesive and unified approach will ensure that the intent of the policy is understood and respected.
All claim presentations should be reviewed in a timely and pro-active manner with decisions promptly and clearly conveyed to the policyholder through the intermediary.
