Charity and community
Everyone who works at Dale is encouraged to give something back to our industry, our local communities and wider society.
We place responsible and sustainable business practices at the heart of everything we do; we strive to reduce our environmental impact, promote positive social change and encourage everyone at Dale to be responsible corporate citizens. Not just because our clients, colleagues, capital providers and regulators might expect it of us, but because we believe it is the right thing to do.
And our commitment doesn’t stop there – we also actively support charitable causes and our local communities.
Our charity and community programme provides opportunities for colleagues to share their skills, experience and time where it’s needed most. We offer a variety of ways for our people to contribute by volunteering, fundraising and mentoring. As a company we also make donations to various charities and good causes throughout the year.
Our aim is to help improve the world in which we live and inspire people to lead secure, sustainable and fulfilling lives.
These are some of the charities and institutions we are proud to support:

ReachOut UK
ReachOut UK is a mentoring charity that gives young people from disadvantaged backgrounds a chance to raise their aspirations and achieve academic success through long-term, one-to-one mentoring.

First Love Foundation (FLF)
Based in Tower Hamlets, FLF helps thousands of people who are facing crises to get their lives back on track. We support their work by making donations to local foodbanks.

KidsOut
KidsOut gives disadvantaged children positive experiences and encourages them to become vaued members of society. Many of these children have never received a gift, so we were delighted to fund new toys and days out for children in refuge over the Christmas period.

East London Business Alliance (ELBA)
ELBA creates connections between businesses and local communities. It harnesses the time, skills and resources of the private sector and helps build the capacity of local organisations, support young people in education and place people into employment in London. Our colleagues have supported three ELBA initiatives in the local community:
- We helped with maintenance at John Scurr Primary School in Stepney Green.
- We cleaned and tidied Shoreditch Adventure Playground which is managed by Young Hackney and provides access for children
and young people. - We volunteered at the Hackney Caribbean Elderly Association Lunch Club, providing support to improve the quality of life for the community’s senior citizens.

Route 66 Virtual Challenge
During 2020’s lockdown, some of our colleagues joined the Route 66 Virtual Challenge, which took them on a 2,280 mile trip along the most iconic road in the world.
For every 20% of the challenge our people completed by running, walking, cycling or swimming, Route 66 organisers donated toward the planting of a tree. By the end of the challenge, each colleague had contributed 5 trees towards the 3 million trees planted by Route 66 participants since August 2020.

Jenna Wilkins foundation
The Jenna Wilkins foundation was established in memory of Jenna Wilkins who lost her life to breast cancer when she was just 25 years old. The foundation raises funds to support those undergoing cancer treatment and enable students with special educational needs to achieve their full potential. In September 2021, our receptionist Katie Clark led the application to the Lloyd’s Market Charity Awards which resulted in a donation to the foundation of £4000. The funds are being used to provide SEN equipment to schools in the Essex area and for the ongoing maintenance of ‘Jenna’s Garden’ at West Hatch Primary School, a place where children can go to feel a sense of calm and wellbeing.
